2021 GES PROMOTION: Category of Teachers to be put on Scale in October & Payment of Responsibility Allowance
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has indicated that teachers who wrote the February aptitude test will be put on the right salary scale. About 46,486 were due for promotion to the ranks of Principal Superintendent (PS), Assistant Director II(ADII) Assistant Director I (ADI), and Deputy Director (DD). Out of the said number, only 29,465 teachers were promoted. According to a post that was published by Educandghana.net previously, we indicated that this year’s processing of grades will be done in batches. The issue of upgrading and promotion started in August 2021. This means that a particular number of qualified teachers will be upgraded in the subsequent months to come.
WHEN WILL ALL TEACHERS WHO PASSED THE GES PROMOTION EXAMS BE UPGRADED OR PROMOTED?
As earlier indicated, some teachers who qualified for the AD II rank after the conduct of the GES promotion exams have been put on their rightful rank in August and September. However, not all teachers who passed the February aptitude test have been promoted or upgraded. Although some have received their share of the promotion but others are yet to. Teachers who were promoted this month (September) will be paid with 4 months’ arrears (March-August). Teachers who have not been upgraded are urged to stay calm as other grades will be paid in October.
ISSUE OF RESPONSIBILITY ALLOWANCE
Information gathered by Educandghana.net indicates that payment of responsibility allowance will take effect next month-October 2021.

Please can you explain to me what has accounted in the differences of salary of the just promoted ADII. I have realized that, teachers with responsibility allowance had less pay ie a gross pay of 3755 cedis whilst teachers without responsibility allowance had 4800 cedis.
Some of us were part of those who sat for the promotion in February yet didn’t get upgraded in September. So, will we also receive the 4months arrears if we get upgraded in October? I never had problem in my promotion.
