Teachers who completed or were employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) as professional teachers in the year 2016, 2017, and 2018 are supposed to be put on their deserving rank, thus, Senior Superintendent I (SS I) in the year 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively. The delay in organizing promotion supervision for these teachers by GES in the year 2021 can be blamed on the pandemic outbreak.
2021 PROMOTION CRITERIA BY GES FOR THE RANK OF SENIOR SUPT II
The criteria for promoting teachers to the said rank has to do with supervision by officials from the respective district/municipal directorates across the country. This has to do with physical or face-to face interactions with the teacher seeking to be promoted hence the delay. The pandemic lockdown period was the perfect time for the GES to execute that agenda but it could not be achieved due to the lockdown. Although some education directors tried their best to organize aptitude test in replacement of the supervision but as at now teachers in the said districts have not been put on the rightful rank.
Meanwhile, as the pandemic cases dropped, other districts were able to supervise deserving teachers to enable them to be promoted to the SS I whereas others are yet to commence. Current information made available to Educandghana.net indicates that the supervision is still ongoing in some districts and will continue when the Junior High Schools resume.
WHEN WILL DESERVING TEACHERS BE PROMOTED BY GES TO SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT I IN 2022?
Information made available to Educandghana.net currently indicates that the promotion of teachers to SS I will be worked on this year. According to an official who spoke under anonymity, he indicated that all supervision for the said teachers will end on July 31st, 2022, and afterward, qualified individuals’ particulars will be forwarded to the GES Headquarters for processing to begin. This means that teachers who fall in this category should be expecting their promotion letters somewhere in August/September ending. Let’s keep the hopes as we update all!!
