CCP Training: T&T not paid to teachers after months of being trained

Teachers in some districts and municipalities have not been paid their T&T money after months of attending the new curriculum training workshop commonly called the Common Core curriculum (CCP).

Investigations have revealed that the majority of the education directorates have not paid junior high school teachers who attended a 3-day non-residential training in January 2022.

Information made available indicates that the training which commenced on the January 12th and ended on the 14th of January 2022 ended on a sad note since teachers in most of the districts were not given their transport fares the reason being that the funds were not released by the government as at that time.

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), each teacher was to be given an amount of GHS 20 and GHS 10 for T&T and breakfast, respectively. The service went ahead to caution various directors of education to give both the breakfast and TnT money in cash to participants.

Meanwhile, teachers in some districts have raised concerns about not receiving a penny after the training. They have therefore called on the Ghana Education Service and other education stakeholders to intervene in the situation.
