Colleges of Education Reopening Date & Admissions Latest Update

Students in the various Colleges of Education/Teacher Training Colleges in Ghana are expected to report to their campuses after the Ministry of Education approved the proposed academic calendar for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.

Trainees are expected to return to campus complete a fourteen-week duration of studies. Therefore continuing students are to report to the school on Saturday, November 6″, 2021. However, the Ministry of Education has revealed that the calendar may be subjected to adjustment when the need arises.

On the issue of 2021/2022 Colleges of Education/ Teacher Training Colleges admissions, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has revealed that qualified or selected applicants will be reporting to First-Year students on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

This will enable the various college affiliates (universities) to conduct re-sit examinations for continuing students and for new admissions to cover the current graduating cohort of Senior High School students.

Students are therefore urged to take note of the changes in the academic calendar and observe it as such. Rumors regarding the drastic reduction of intake by the colleges of education for the 2021/2022 academic year, the MOE has cautioned Colleges not to accept fresh admissions that exceed the numbers that were admitted in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. This means that their members that were admitted last year will not be increased nor decreased.
