The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has cautioned members of the general public especially salaried workers to beware of scammers who parade themselves as loan contractors.

The crime office said it has received a lot of complaints from salaried workers in recent times who have fallen victims to the schemes of these scammers.

“Scammers are targeting salaried workers and attempting to take advantage of people who may be struggling financially.

“These unscrupulous individuals call and send text messages promising affordable rates and promising to coach individuals to secure loans for a fee” a statement issued Tuesday, August 17 reads in parts.
