GES orders SHSs heads to allow students change their Programmes, issues a second cycle academic calendar
The Management of the Ghana Education Service (CES) has indicated that students who want to change their Programmes or courses should be allowed to do so.
A statement signed by the Director-General of GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa says it is requesting all Regional Directors of Education to kindly inform the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to make it clear to Heads of Second Cycle Schools about the information below;
Students who have been enrolled and would want to change their program should be allowed to change. The list of students and their programs should be forwarded to Director-General for the necessary corrections to take effect on the portal.
Also, heads should encourage students to move from overpopulated programmes to less populated programmes.
However the service has declared that Easter break starts on Thursday, 1st April and ends on Tuesday, 6 th April, 2021 and classes’ resumes on Wednesday, 7th April, 2021. Meanwhile, students who would want to stay in school should be allowed to and catered for as well.
It has also been noted that the School Portal will be closed on Thursday 1st April 2021 hence all manual placements should be uploaded on or before Thursday, 1st April 2021.
