Good News to teachers without NTC Licensed Cards

The National Teaching Council (NTC) is the body responsible for seeing to it that there is teacher professionalism by issuing licenses to teachers.

The NTC categorically stated clearly that teachers who were employed after 31st August 2018 needed to write and pass the Ghana Teacher License Exams (GTLE) to merit the license and registration number.

Currently, the council has reversed its decision and is currently issuing licenses to individuals who fall in the named category.

This means that teachers who were employed as non-professionals before 1st September 2018 and acquired professional qualifications on or after 1st September 2018 are now exempted from taking the licensure exams.

However, all teachers who fall in this category are required to make payment for registration and verification of data for the issuance of the full license.

Non-professional teachers are urged to note that the amount to be paid as NTC license fees is GHS 152.25. Individuals are to visit their NTC teacher portal Ghana to make payments.
