The Ghana Education Service (GES) has urged all Regional Directors of Education to direct the various district directors of education to as a matter of urgency request information on teachers in the various districts.
A statement sighted by educandghana.net and signed by the Deputy Director-General of GES, Anthony Boateng indicates that this exercise forms part of the processes for the licensing and registration of qualified teachers at the pre-tertiary level, the National Teaching Council requires some information from Heads of Schools and teachers.
Meanwhile, the following group of workers is to take part in the exercise; qualified teachers (Professional); unqualified teachers (non-professional); and teachers in administration.
According to the statement, templates will be made available at the district level which will later be distributed for collation of the information of all Heads of schools and teachers. The following details are to be provided on the template that will be distributed; Name, Staff ID, Phone Number, Highest Professional/Academic Qualification and Signature
It furtherly revealed that officers from the National Teaching Council will be contacting District Directors directly for the information.
The management of the Ghana Education Service has therefore indicated that it will be grateful if District Directors get the required information as per the attached templates for the National Teaching Council. READ FULL STATEMENT BELOW
