New Dates: NTC Postpones September Licensure exams

The National Teaching Council is mandated by Education Regulators’ Body Act 2020 (ACT 1023) to improve the professional standing and status of teachers and to ensure licensing and registration of teachers in Ghana.

The purpose of the Licensing Examination is to enable qualified teachers to acquire a professional license and prepare teachers to meet the demands of the National Teachers’ Standards of possessing the minimum knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools.

The council open the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) registration portal in August 2021 to allow qualified persons to register to enable them to acquire their teaching license. Information gathered and confirmed by Educandghana.net indicates that the September 2021 Exams have been postponed. According to a press statement issued by the council, the postponement has become necessary due to circumstances beyond their control.

The NTC licensure exams which was initially scheduled to take place on the 23rd and 24th of September, 2021 has been postponed to the 25th and 24th of October, 2021. Candidates are urged to take note of the new dates and ready themselves.

The council has, however, urged the various principals for the various centers to officially apply for a police escort in the conduct of the GTLE to ensure law and order during the examination period. Also, all other protocols still hold. Meanwhile, the council has indicated that any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
