The Ghana Education Service has indicated that the postponement of the reopening date for Senior High School final year students will enhance the uninterrupted instructional period till they write their final examination.
A press statement intercepted by educandghana.net and signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit at the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo reveals that ordinarily, the form three students were to have reported to school tomorrow, 7th April, and be in school until 28th May 2021. They were then to have gone on vacation from 28th May to 29th June 2021.
According to the service, the current arrangement means that when the final years report to school on 5th May 2021, they will be in school until they write their WASSCE.
Management of GES considers this new development as a better option that will help keep students in school until they write their final exams.
“Management of GES, therefore, considers this as a better option where the students will not break their instructional period and have their full 1,080 hours needed prior to the final examination”, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the management of GES has rendered and an apology to the general public and all educational stakeholders for the inconveniences that have been caused.
