No more writing of lesson notes-Bawumia Reaffirms
The Vice President o the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated that the writing of lesson notes in the Ghana Education Service (GES) is over.
He made this revelation during a public lecture on the digital economy at Ashesi University on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
The vice president in his speech disclosed how committed the government is to better the educational system in the country.
In his submission, he said the government has provided 350,000 teachers with laptops under the one teacher, one laptop initiative.
According to Dr. Bawumia, this initiative is to help put a halt to the writing of lesson notes by teachers.
“We have provided 350,000 teachers with laptops under the one teacher, one laptop initiative. So for teachers, the writing of lesson notes into notebooks is over because the curriculum materials are already installed on the laptops”, he said.
He additionally, revealed that there is a new initiative aimed at providing tablets to SHS students and will be implemented soon.
“Our next goal ladies and gentlemen are to provide tablets to high school students and we have started working with publishers and the idea is to preload all the tablets that we will provide the students with all the required textbooks so that we don’t have to keep buying textbooks and they can have them digitally available on their tablets for learning,” he added.
