Payment of Teachers’ Professional Allowance & Distribution of laptops plan-Check it out
After the official launch of the “One Teacher, One Laptop” on 3rd September 2021, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has scheduled a plan for the distribution process. The payment of the teachers’ professional allowance has also been revealed. Information made available to educandghana.net indicates that the distribution of the Teachers’ Mate 1 laptops begins on 6th September 2021 with Senior High School teachers. Meanwhile, distribution to various Regions and District Education offices begins next week hence the distribution to JHS teachers will begin next week.
The distribution to primary will be next after the JHS teachers have received theirs. According to GES, teachers will pay 30% (GHS465) of the cost (GHS 1550). The 30% shall be deducted from this year’s teachers’ professional allowance. However, the 2021 teacher professional allowance will be paid by September or October ending.
The government should try and pay teacher trainee’s allowances which had not been paid for six months.
