Preparing school timetable, teachers must take note of the GES directives
The Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) is very much particular about how Headteachers of various basic schools prepare their timetable hence teachers must take note of the GES directives regarding its preparation.
The GES is very much particular about the proper use of pupils’ learning hours.
The following directives on how to avoid misuse of school time must therefore be adhered to by teachers.
All meetings of Headteachers and Teachers with Directors of Education or District Officials, including, the Circuit Supervisors should be reduced to a minimum and should take place outside official school hours.
Preparation for and holding of sporting and other events should take place outside official school hours except as are authorized by the Director-General or the Minister of Education.
Except for very urgent reasons, Headteachers and Teachers wishing to visit Metro/Municipal/District or Regional Education Offices Headquarters should do so outside official school hours.
However, teachers should remember that these directives also include meeting with staff and other stakeholders.
