The National Communications Authority (NCA) has indicated that it will launch a short code to enable subscribers to verify the number of SIMs associated with each individual Ghana Card.
This was publicly declared by the NCA after a public backlash from some media personalities and the general public about illegalities concerned with impersonation.
According to the management of NCA, it has liaised with various telecommunication companies to come out with a short code for the said development where there will be no need for subscribers to physically visit the Telcos for verification purposes.
Moreover, subscribers with their Ghana Card will be able to verify the number of SIM cards linked by just using their Ghana card PIN after a verification process.
The authority has assured the general public that the shortcode will be completed and approved by the end of April 2023.
